How can I refer one of my friends to join?
Referring a friend is easy!  Just hover over the main Community button at the top and click "Invite Friends".  You can choose Facebook friends or type in someone's email address.

For every person who accepts your referral, you will receive 1,000,000 Slingo Coins AND 1,000 Rank Points!
How can I be picked as Player of the Month, and what do I get?
To be in the running for Player of the Month you must have a public Community profile, an approved main profile picture, a headline and biography filled out, you must not be muzzled in the game rooms, and you must have logged in over the past month.

If you meet all these criteria, you are in the running for the prestigious POTM title!

The Slingo Player of the Month will receive a coin award, Slingo Rank points, have their name up in lights on the Community home page for all to see, and may even win some other goodies for their profile!
How can I make emoticons in the chat?
The new Slingo Chat System offers a wide array of new features to help you talk to your friends.

One of these new features are the use of emoticons to express yourself in fun new ways! 

How to use them:

Some of the emoticons are set to replace commonly known text emotes such as:  :) , ;) , and :D  .  For these you won't need to do anything other type them as you normally would.

There are also a number of extra emoticons built into the chat system to let you express yourself in fun new ways! 

The basic format of the extended set of emoticons is a keyword with a colon on either side ( :<keywordhere>: )

For instance, if you want to use the cat emoticon, all you have to type is :cat: and when you press the send button *poof* it will be replaced by a cute little kitty! 

Make sure there are no spaces between the colons and the keywords or it will not be replaced!

Here's a list of a few of the emoticons you can use, however some of them are 'hidden', and you'll have to experiment to discover them all!  Looking at how the keywords are chosen for each emoticon can serve as a clue to figure out some of the hidden ones.

  • Big green grin = :grin:
  • Heart = :heart:
  • Sleeping = :zzz:
  • Whistle = :whistle:
  • Clap = :clap:
  • Huh? = :huh:
  • Rose = :rose:
  • Faint = :faint:
  • Cry = :cry:

There are also a few emoticons we've built in as a result of common sayings that members JUST LIKE YOU have established to talk to one another.

All players on Slingo will be given a rank, and will be placed on a Rank Ladder along with everyone else.

How can I search for someone?
Just log in to and hover over the Community link at the top and choose "Search Members".  You can search by user name, and then narrow your search by location, age, and gender.

Remember that to be included in the member search, you have to go into your account preferences and set how you want to be searched.
How many pictures can I put up?
Everyone will be able to upload 1 main profile picture, and 3 extra pictures when they create a community profile.  In the future you will be able to purchase more pictures for your albums using Slingo Coins.
What kind of pictures are allowed?
The following are not allowed in Slingo Community Profile pictures:

  • is patently offensive and promotes racism, bigotry, hatred or physical harm of any kind against any group or individual
  • harasses or advocates harassment of another person
  • exploits people in a sexual or violent manner
  • contains nudity, violence, or offensive subject matter or contains a link to an adult website
  • solicits personal information from anyone under 18
  • provides any telephone numbers, street addresses, last names, URLs or email addresses
  • promotes information that you know is false or misleading or promotes illegal activities such as drug use, or conduct that is abusive, threatening, obscene, defamatory or libelous
  • promotes an illegal or unauthorized copy of another person's copyrighted work, such as providing pirated computer programs or links to them, providing information to circumvent manufacture-installed copy-protect devices, or providing pirated music or links to pirated music files
  • involves the transmission of "junk mail," "chain letters," or unsolicited mass mailing, instant messaging, "spimming," or "spamming"
  • furthers or promotes any criminal activity or enterprise or provides instructional information about illegal activities including, but not limited to making or buying illegal weapons, violating someone's privacy, or providing or creating computer viruses
  • solicits passwords or personal identifying information for commercial or unlawful purposes from other Users
  • involves commercial activities and/or sales without our prior written consent such as contests, sweepstakes, barter, advertising, or pyramid schemes
  • includes a photograph of another person that you have posted without that person's consent
  • uses sexually suggestive imagery or any other unfair, misleading or deceptive Content is an E-Rated gaming website.  Use your best judgment.   If you have to think about it before you post a picture, it most likely won't be allowed up.

Why didn't my main profile picture show up?
All main profile pictures are moderated before going live on the website.  This can take anywhere from a few minutes, to 48 hours.  This helps us keep the website safe for all users.  If you upload your picture, and it was rejected because it did not follow our picture guidelines, you will be sent a message on your Slingo Profile stating so.  Try uploading a different image.

You can also only change your main profile picture every 24 hours.  All other profile pictures can be changed at any time.
What is My Slingo?
Your My Slingo Page is your new home base.  You control all aspects of your account from here.  You can change pictures, edit your friends list, or even change your password.  You can also check your rank status, or check your Slingo Messages and Comments.

What exactly can I do in My Slingo?
Log in to and go to your My Slingo Page by clicking on the "My Slingo" link at the top of the page.  Here is a list of what you can change from here:

How to I change my basic profile info?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click the Basic Info link at the top.

Click here to change things like your name, address, and birthday.  These things will come in handy when you want to enter some of our sweepstakes and prize drawings!

How do I edit my Account Settings?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click on Account Settings at the top.

This is where you go to change your password and the email address you have on file with us.  You can also set whether or not you receive email notifications for messages, comments, and friend requests in the community.

At the bottom of the page is the Delete Account button.  If you would like to cancel your account, you can do so from here.  **WARNING** Canceling your account is a permanent action!  All account info including coins and scores will be deleted!
Where do I change my profile preferences?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click Preferences at the top.

Here you can change settings regarding how your information is viewed by others on the site. 

Who can see my profile - Allow everyone, friends only, or no one to be allowed to see your profile.  This is like setting public or private on the old community.

Who can see my pictures - Allow everyone, or only friends to be allowed to view your profile pictures.

Whose profile pages do I want to view - Set whether you want to view everyone else's profiles, or just those on your friends list.

Who can find me online - The Locator will allow other users to see where on the site you are playing.  You can set whether you want to allow everyone to see, just your friends, or no one at all.

Who can contact me - Set whether you want everyone to be able to message and comment you, only your friends, or no one at all [Although, that's no fun, is it?  Hehe].

Member Directory Searches - Set the criteria others will be able to search for you by.  Choose any of the options such as location, age, gender, or disable searching of your profile all together.

Remember to hit the SAVE button at the bottom to save all your preference changes.
How do I view my live public profile?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click on View Profile at the top.

Click here to see what your profile looks like live on the new Slingo Community.  You can view your Top 10 friends, your favorite games, and your public comments.
How do I edit my public profile?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click Edit Profile at the top.

Here you can change your profile headline, and your main bio.  Tell everyone a little bit about yourself!

Remember to be smart when putting information on the internet.
Where can I check my Slingo Messages?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click Messages.

This is your Slingo Inbox.  It's like email, for Slingo.  Your messages will be listed here.  Click on the Sent Box to see messages you have sent to others.  Click Compose Message to write a new message to another user.  Just type in their user name and a subject, and type away!  If you can't message that person, we will let you know [Just in case they have chosen not to receive messages].
Where can I edit my comments?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click Comments at the top.

Click to view a list of the comments left on your profile.  You can also delete comments you don't want any more.
Where can I edit my Favorite Games list?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click Favorites at the top.

This is where you choose your list of favorite games to show everyone what you love to play.  Just check off the games you want on your favorites list, and then click Save Favorite Games at the bottom.
Where do I upload new photos to my profile?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click Pictures at the top.

This is where you upload your profile pictures.  You can view each individual picture, view your entire gallery, or purchase more picture slots for your profile.

Pictures must be 600kb or less, and must be a GIF or JPG.  Photos may not contain nudity, sexually explicit content, violent or offensive material, or copyrighted images. Do not load images of other people without their permission. Violation of these terms may lead to a termination of your Slingo membership.
Where can I view and edit my friends list?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click Friends at the top.

This is your friends list.  You can view all your friends, only your friends who are online right now, or set who you want in your Top 10 Friends List.  The top 10 will show on your public profile.
Where can I find out about my Rank?
Log in to your account and go to your My Slingo page.  Then click Rank at the top.

This is where you can see your rank statistics.  It shows your current rank, how many points until your next rank, and a breakdown of your points for the day, week, month, and lifetime.
Why am I logged out automatically sometimes?
One of the new features on is the "Locator".  This allows you to see what game your friends are in and allow you to follow them in.  Being logged in and active on the website is key to letting this to work correctly.  If you have not been active on the website for about half an hour, the system will log you out automatically.  Just sign in next time you come to the site and browse like normal.

This also helps us keep up to date information on your contests, tournaments, and rank points as you move throughout the site.
How do I add a friend?
All you have to do is go to the person's Community Profile, and click the Add as Friend button below their profile picture.  You will be asked to confirm that you want to add them. 

All friend requests must be accepted by the other person, or they will not show up on your friends list.  When the request is accepted, they will be automatically added to your list.

You will receive a message when you get a friend request.
How do I send a message?
To send a message, all you have to do is go to the person's Community Profile and click the Send Message button below their main profile picture. Or, you can simply go to your Messages area of My Slingo and hit the Compose Message button, and type in the user name of whomever you want to message.   You can then type and format your message and send it.  Sent and received messages are stored in the Messages section of your My Slingo page.

Alternatively, log in to your My Slingo page and click on Messages.  Click on the COMPOSE button to start a new message.  You can type in the recipient's name directly, or use the purple Community icon next to the form to choose a friend from your list.  Start typing a friend's name and the window will show similar friend names.  Then just click on the one you want to send to.
How do I remove a friend?
To remove a friend from your list, log in and go to your My Slingo page and click Friends at the top.  This is your Friends Administration page.  All your friends are listed here.  To remove one, just click the Delete button under their picture.
What is Slingo "In-Mail" Messaging, and how do my preferences affect them?
"In-Mail" is another way for you to communicate with your Slingo friends.  "In-Mail" messages are private and only seen by you and the person you send them to.  It works just like e-mail!

Remember to check the "Who can contact me?" preference on your account.  This will control who can send you messages in the Slingo Community.
