Central to the game are beautiful beads, initially covered by a glass dome. During betting time, the dealer uses a metal cup to separate out a random number of these beads. 

The Fan Tan rules start with you choosing one of two game views. You can select the simplified view which shows the eight basic betting options. Or you can choose the advanced view that covers 28 betting options in total, including the eight from the simplified view. 

The default game view allows you to place eight wagering options. They are all the traditional betting options in the game of Fan Tan. They are 1, 2, 3, 4, Big, Small, Odd, and Even. The payout for one of the Fan bets (the number of remaining beads) is 2.85x (3:1) because the casino takes a 5% commission. The other four options pay 0.95x if you hit them (1:1 sans 5% commission).

The advanced view gives you 20 additional wagers, besides the eight ones mentioned above. Those include Nim, Kwok, and Ssh (Sheh-sam-hong) bets. Nim bets are like Fan bets, but they cover two numbers. 

For instance, the first number in the Nim bet will produce a win, while it will be a push if you hit the second. Any other number will yield a loss. 1 Nim 2 bets pay 2.85x if the remaining number of beads turns out to be 1, and if there are 2, it’s a push. All Nim bets pay 1.90x (2:1 minus 5%) if you hit the first number. Kwok bets include wagering on two numbers simultaneously.
