The game is divided into two parts: a base game and a respin bonus round. The base game is played on a 5-reel, 4-row matrix with 40 fixed paylines to land winning combos on. When the bonus is triggered, this area shrinks. A winning combination consists of three identical symbols on a payline from the grid's left side. This can be accomplished using five low-paying 10-A symbols or higher-paying guitars, hot sauce bottles, chihuahuas, señoritas, or Big Juan señors. A five-of-a-kind premium combination can be worth 2.5 to 6.25 times the original investment. In the base game, whenever at least six of the identical pay symbols appear on reels 2, 3, or 4, they all become chilli wild symbols.

Landing three, four, or five piñata scatter symbols results in ten, twelve, or fifteen respins, accordingly. The respin feature is played on a 3x3 grid, with a peculiar fourth reel that has only one location. On the primary grid, a sticky bag of coins symbol appears in the middle, while other spots may contain money symbols, extra spins symbols, or one of the four jackpot symbols.

If a Win symbol appears on the fourth reel, it multiplies the value of all money symbols in view, including the bag of coins symbol.  If any jackpot symbols are visible, they are collected on their respective jackpot metres. Collect enough jackpot symbols to win the prize. The four jackpots are the Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand, respectively valued 12.5x, 50x, 250x, and 2,500x the total stake.

The Boost symbol may also appear on the fourth reel. When this one hits, the values of all money symbols visible are added to the bag of coins symbol. This value remains in effect until the end of the round.
