Bingo has long been associated with the older generation, who often visit bingo halls as a way to socialise with friends while potentially winning a cash prize!

And with the increasing popularity of online bingo, there’s no reason why senior citizens can’t enjoy the same benefits from the comfort of their own home.

But what exactly is online bingo, and how do you play it?

Read on to find out the answer to these questions and more in our helpful guide to online bingo for seniors!

What Is Online Bingo?

Online bingo is very similar to traditional bingo! The aim of the game is to mark off numbers on your card (or cards) when they are called out.

Prizes are awarded for marking off numbers in a certain pattern: the most well-known bingo pattern is a Full House, where all of the numbers on your card are marked off, but there are often prizes for 1 Line, 2 Lines and so on.

Online bingo can be played on your computer, laptop, mobile phone or tablet, and feature fun bingo chat rooms where you can type messages to your fellow players - and to the bingo host.

How to Play Online Bingo

Before playing a game of online bingo, you’ll need to buy tickets (sometimes called cards) to take part. The price will vary depending on the game you’re playing, but they can cost as little as £0.01.

Each ticket has a numbered grid on it, just like in traditional bingo. Many grids have blank spaces too, but this will depend on the type of bingo game you’re playing.

When the game starts, numbers will be called out and automatically marked off on your card - so you don’t have to worry about keeping up!

The aim of the game is to mark off certain patterns on the cards - it might be 1 Line (one horizontal line across), 2 Lines (2 horizontal lines across), a Full House (every number on the card marked off), or something different!

Don’t worry if you lose track of the game - if you win a prize, we’ll automatically let you know! In online bingo you don’t have to shout “bingo” to claim your prize - although of course you can if you feel like it!

Playing Online Bingo Is Easy at Slingo.com

Slingo.com is the perfect place to play online bingo, and our easy-to-navigate website suits all ages. Keep reading to find out more about how to start playing online bingo with Slingo, from registration to online payments and more.

Website Navigation and Registration

The Slingo website is designed to be easy to find your way around. Before you start playing online bingo with us, you’ll need to register on our website. You can do this by clicking ‘Join’ at the top right-hand side of our homepage.

You’ll then see a short form pop up on the screen, asking you to enter details such as your name, date of birth and email address.

Once you’ve registered, it’s almost time to play! You’ll need to make a deposit to give you money to play with first, though.

You can do this from the ‘My Account’ section of the homepage when you’re logged in to the page.

Next it’s time to choose a bingo game! The games are played in rooms and there are plenty of options to choose from, including Jackpot Room Bingo and Country Roads Bingo to name just a few.

Before the game begins, you’ll need to buy tickets - check the section above this one again if you’d like some more guidance on how to play.

Online Payments

To play bingo online, you’ll need to make deposits - and withdraw your winnings if you’re a winner!

Luckily, making online payments, deposits and withdrawals is safe and easy at Slingo.com. We accept all major payment methods including credit and debit cards, and many other e-payment options.

You can find all the methods available for your country in the Deposit section of the Cashier page (once you are logged into your account on the Slingo page).

Live Chat Rooms

One of our favourite features of online bingo is the live chat rooms. This technology allows you to chat to other players just like you would in a real bingo hall - except this time you’ll be typing rather than speaking!

Live chat rooms offer a great opportunity for you to get to know your fellow players, as well as asking the bingo host any questions you may have.

Additional games are often played in the live chat rooms too, giving you the chance to win even more prizes!

You’ll see the chat room screen in all online bingo rooms you play, and you can join in the chat by simply typing in the chat box and hitting Enter or Send.
