We then collected data across the following factors to build our index:

  • The cost of a ticket
  • The length of the festival
  • The festival’s daily capacity
  • The number of stages
  • The number of artists

We used a combination of various sources to collect this data, including news articles, Wikipedia, and each festival’s own website.

Any festivals without complete data across all factors were removed.

This data was combined into a single score, giving each factor equal weighting.
