Here at Slingo we have analysed Google searches to determine the most popular silver foxes and vixens. We’ve also looked at which of these celebrities are the closest to the golden beauty ratio of 1:1.62, based on the measurement and distance of certain facial features.
The Most Popular Silver Foxes of Hollywood
1. Harrison Ford
Number of Google Searches: 35.0 million
In first place, we have Harrison Ford, the most popular Hollywood silver fox, who made young and old Han Solo look great. He had 35.0 million Google searches over the last 12 months for his name, plus his name combined with terms such as “hot” and “girlfriend”.
2. Tom Hanks
Number of Google Searches: 30.8 million
Coming in as the second most popular Hollywood silver fox, we have Tom Hanks, star of Forrest Gump (1994), Saving Private Ryan (1998), and the Toy Story series, as the voice of Woody. Tom has 30.8 million global Google searches combined for his name and his name paired with terms such as “hot” and “girlfriend”.
3. Morgan Freeman
Number of Google Searches: 22.4 million
And rounding out the top three, we have Morgan Freeman, one of Hollywood's most calming and identifiable voices. The star of Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy has 22.4 million searches worldwide for his name, and his name paired with terms such as “hot” and “girlfriend”.
The Most Popular Silver Vixens of Hollywood
1. Jamie-Lee Curtis
Number of Google Searches: 26.8 million
Known for her roles in slasher movies such as the six Halloween movies, which concluded with Halloween Ends (2022), Jamie-Lee Curtis is Hollywood’s most popular silver vixen. During 2023, she amassed 26.8 million worldwide searches paired with terms such as “hot” and “boyfriend”.
2. Jane Fonda
Number of Google Searches: 17.4 million
In second place, we have Jane Fonda, a movie icon best known for Klute (1971), Coming Home (1978) and Jane Fonda’s Workout, the best-selling videotape of its time. With 17.4 million global Google searches during 2023, she’s the world’s third most popular silver vixen.
3. Meryl Streep
Number of Google Searches: 16.8 million
And finishing off the top three, we have Meryl Streep, star of Mamma Mia (2008). Over 2023, Streep amassed 16.8 million Google searches worldwide for her name and her name paired with “hot” and “boyfriend” combined.
Silver Foxes Closest to the Golden Ratio
1. Tom Hanks
Difference from Golden Ratio: 0.00
Coming in first place is Tom Hanks for silver foxes, whose facial ratio closely matches the golden ratio. The golden ratio for facial beauty, which is 1.62, is identical to the facial ratio of Hanks, meaning his face is the peak of beauty.
2. Morgan Freeman

Difference from Golden Ratio: 0.01
Third place is also shared between Morgan Freeman, star of Now You See Me (2013) and Bruce Almighty (2003), Harrison Ford, who played Han Solo in the Star Wars movies, and Spanish actor Antonio Banderas. Freeman’s facial ratio is 1.63, Ford’s is 1.61, and Banderas’ is 1.61, meaning they are all just 0.01 off the golden ratio of 1.62.
3. Pierce Brosnan
Difference from Golden Ratio: 0.02
Fifth place is Pierce Brosnan, best known for his tenure as the titular character in the James Bond movies from 1995 to 2002. Brosnan’s facial ratio is 1.60, which is just 0.02 below the golden ratio.
Silver Vixens Closest to the Golden Ratio
1. Glenn Close
Difference from Golden Ratio: 0.01
Taking top spot for the Hollywood silver vixen with the facial ration closest to the golden ration of 1.62, we have Glenn Close, star of 101 Dalmatians (1996). Her facial ratio of 1.61 is just 0.01 below the golden ratio.
2. Jodie Foster
Difference from Golden Ratio: 0.02
Coming in second place, we have Jodie Foster, star of The Silence of the Lambs (1991), among the silver vixen with the facial ratio closest to the golden ratio of 0.62. Foster’s facial ratio is 1.64, which is just 0.02 above the golden ratio for facial beauty of 1.62.
3. Meryl Streep
Helen Mirren
Difference from Golden Ratio: 0.03
Meryl Streep and Helen Mirren share third place; the former has starred in The Devil Wears Prada (2006), and the latter has been in Red (2010) and Woman in Gold (2015). Their facial beauty ratios of 1.59 and 1.65 put them just 0.03 off the golden ratio.
Methodology
Using articles from The Sun and Yahoo, we built a list of silver foxes and vixens in Hollywood, and we then took the top ten most Googled silver foxes and vixens.
We then used Google Keyword Planner to get the global search volume in 2023 for each person's name. We then also took the search volume for their name paired with phrases: “hot”, “boyfriend” and “girlfriend”.
Analysing images of each celebrity, we were able to take facial measurements (in pixels, converted to inches) necessary to calculate their facial beauty ratio using iCalculator’s tool. We then calculated the difference for each celeb's ratio compared to the 1.62 golden ratio and ranked each celeb based on their proximity to the golden ratio.
