Taylor Swift’s cat, Olivia Benson, is officially the most-searched celebrity pet

Taylor Swift is known for her love of cats, and Olivia Benson is arguably the most famous among them, with 52,700 annual global searches.
Named after Mariska Hargitay's character on the television show Law & Order: SVU, Olivia Benson is a Scottish Fold cat who has captivated fans worldwide. Taylor often shares photos and videos of Olivia on social media, which only helps to solidify her place as the world’s favourite celebrity pet.
2. Taylor Swift’s cat Benjamin Button | 31,500 searches
Another beloved feline of Taylor Swift, Benjamin Button, is the second most searched celebrity pet. Over 31 thousand searches were made for him over the last year.
Benjamin, a Ragdoll cat, was introduced to the world (and Taylor herself) in the music video for "ME!". His striking blue eyes and fluffy coat make him a standout, and Taylor couldn’t help but quickly adopt him.
3. Ariana Grande’s dog Lafayette | 23,600 searches
Ariana Grande, another pop music powerhouse, is known for her deep love for animals, particularly her rescue dogs. Of these, Lafayette is the most popular online, having racked up 23,600 searches over the last year.
The adorable Bloodhound was adopted back in 2016 and now lives alongside Ariana’s eight other rescue dogs!
Which celebrity pet is the biggest celebrity pet-fluencer?
1. Kylie Jenner’s dogs Norman and Bambi | 9.21 out of 10
Kylie Jenner, a member of the famous Kardashian-Jenner family and a successful entrepreneur, owns two Italian Greyhounds named Norman and Bambi.
These stylish dogs have their own Instagram account, @normieandbambijenner, where they share a mix of cute photos, playful moments, and glimpses of their luxurious lifestyle with over 322,000 followers.
Their followers translate to impressive earning potential, with an estimated £3,238 ($4,110) per post. Norman and Bambi are also popular with mainstream media, as they’ve been featured in nearly 2,000 news articles.
2. George H.W. Bush’s dog Sully and Paris Hilton’s pets | 8.09 out of 10
We have a tie for second place between George H.W. Bush’s dog Sully and Paris Hilton’s many pets.
Sully, a Labrador Retriever, is famous for serving President Bush in his final months. On his Instagram account, @sullyhwbush, followers can find touching posts showcasing his work with veterans and his life as a service dog. With 239,000 followers, Sully's posts could earn him about £2,253 ($2,860) for a sponsored post.
Paris Hilton often posts pictures or clips of dogs, cats, and even mini pigs, living a glamorous life on @hiltonpets. With 108,600 followers, if she were to do a sponsored post, she could earn up to £1,032 ($1,310) per post — although this would need to be shared between numerous pets that appear on the account, of course.

Jimmy Fallon’s dog, Gary, is officially the most beautiful celebrity pet. He has a golden ratio score of 1.60, which is just 0.02 away from the ideal of 1.62. After being adopted in 2017, Gary has made multiple appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he shows off his good looks.
Taylor Swift’s cat, Meredith Grey, and Kendall Jenner’s Doberman Pinscher, Pyro, both claim the second spot with golden ratios of 1.70. Although these celebrity pets couldn’t look more different, they are both just 0.08 higher than the ideal.
Paris Hilton is the celebrity with the most pets, at 35!
Paris Hilton is not just the owner of some talented pet-fluencers, but she also reportedly has the most pets in total. Her collection includes dogs, cats, rabbits, miniature pigs, and even a kinkajou. Her pets live a life of luxury, often seen in custom-made outfits and enjoying lavish comforts.
Country music star Miranda Lambert follows with 20 pets, including dogs, cats, horses, and chickens. Known for her advocacy for animal rescue, Miranda co-founded the MuttNation Foundation with her mother, a charity designed to help animals find their forever homes.
Another animal activity is actor Ian Somerhalder, famous for his role in "The Vampire Diaries". He founded the Ian Somerhalder Foundation, which focused on animal rights and environmental issues, although it seems that this is no longer active. Not just content with charitable works, he reportedly owns 15 pets, including dogs, cats, and horses.
Methodology
We created a seed list of celebrity pets using sources such as Elle and Cosmopolitan.
We then used Google Ads Keyword Planner to source the number of global Google searches between July 2023 and June 2024 for each celebrity pet using the search term "[Celebrity} [pet name]".
To find the top pet-fluencers, we created a seed list of celebrity pets with Instagram accounts from People. We recorded their following numbers using Instagram.
We also used InBeat's Instagram earnings calculator to source the potential earnings of each pet account for a sponsored post.
Alongside this, we used Google to find the number of articles written about each pet using terms such as "[celebrity] [pet name]" and "[celebrity] [pet type]".
We measured some of the most popular celebrity pets’ facial features using face-on images. As we were only concerned with ratios, the difference in size between images did not impact the overall result.
We took measurements for the following features before running the numbers through a golden ratio calculator to get the ratio score for each celebrity pet:
- Length of face
- Top of head to pupils of eyes
- Pupils to nose tip
- Pupils to mouth
- Width of nose
- Distance between outer corners of eyes
- Width of face
- Bottom of ears to pupils
- Nose tip to chin
- Mouth to chin
- Length of mouth
- Nose tip to mouth
With this ratio score, we determined the difference between each celebrity pet’s score and the golden ratio of 1.62, ranking each pet on how close their ratio score is to the ideal.
Lastly, we looked at the number of pets each celebrity has sourced from Ranker.
