What Is 80 Ball Bingo?

80 ball bingo is a faster-paced game than the traditional 90 ball game, offering players an exciting new way to play the classic game.

The game is traditionally played in UK bingo halls as a side-game between the main 90 ball sessions, and it’s also known as ‘shutterboard bingo.’ This is because it was often found at UK seaside attractions, with tickets built into the table with shutters that players moved across to cover the numbers, rather than dabbing with a pen.

Today the online version of 80 ball bingo is becoming even more popular, giving players a quick-fire bingo experience with real money prizes.

80 ball bingo is played on a 4x4 grid and there are a number of different potential ways to win, including horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines, four corners or a full house.

Although not every site has 80 ball bingo, you can find it here at Slingo.com.

80-Ball Bingo: Learn the Basics

Before you play 80 ball bingo online, you’ll need to learn the basics. Here’s a quick run-down of everything you need to know:

Game Rules

In 80 ball bingo, players must buy tickets for each game.

The price of a ticket varies for each bingo game. When tickets are available for purchase, the ticket price is clearly shown on the face of each ticket.

Once the game has started, each ticket has a unique ticket number.

Just like in traditional bingo, the aim is to mark off numbers on the grid when they are called out.

The player who is the first to mark off the required pattern wins the prize.

Players can choose to mark off numbers themselves or use the auto-daub feature.

80-Ball Bingo Cards

80 ball bingo uses 4x4 cards made up of 16 squares.

Each square contains a number, between 1 and 80.

In 80 ball bingo, a strip is a group of 5 tickets. Each number from 1 through to 80 will appear on each full strip, and if one of these numbers is called out it will be marked off on the card.

80 ball bingo cards are usually divided into different-coloured columns to make it easier for players to spot matching numbers.

For example, the first column might be red and contain numbers from 1-20, while the second column may be yellow with numbers from 21 - 40.

This makes for a colourful bingo experience that our players love!

Winning Patterns

There are a number of different winning patterns in 80 ball bingo, and you’ll need to check the rules for each specific game you play.

Here are a few examples of winning patterns:

One line: Players must complete a line either horizontally, vertically or diagonally

Two lines: A prize is awarded for any two complete lines

Three lines: Complete three lines to win a prize

Four corners: Mark off the four numbers in the corners of the card to win a prize

Square: Mark off the four numbers in the centre of the card to be rewarded

Full house: Mark off all the numbers on the card to win
