Methodology

To find the list of official race countries, we used the Formula1 website. This shows the race calendar for the 2023 season. We then created a list of the closest cities each race circuit is in.

Using this information, we then looked at the average price of a one-night stay at a three-star hotel in each city by using Kayak. This showed the average overnight stay for each month, using this data we then found the annual average in order to get an estimate for a nightly cost.

For the average price of a return flight to each country, we used Skyscanner. By researching the relevant dates for each Grand Prix we took an average of five different flight prices from various parts of the UK by looking at the ‘cheapest’ section on the site. However, for Monaco, we looked at the average price of flights going to Nice which has the closest airport.

Using sources such as Formula1, F1 Experiences  and Race Experiences we collected the average three-day ticket prices, including the cost of VIP experiences.

Please note, for cases where the price of a ticket, VIP experience, hotel or flight could not be provided or its average could not be calculated, these destinations were not added to the overall ranking.

The currencies have been converted into GBP, EUR and USD using the currency rates at the time of conversion.
