Do dogs have to be kept on a lead on Cornwall beaches?
Most dog beaches in Cornwall allow your dog to run free. There are 137 beaches to choose from that allow dogs to enjoy the beach off the lead.
A further 74 beaches allow dogs with some restrictions. Restrictions tend to limit the access to Cornwall beaches for dogs during the Summer season, typically from Mid-May to the end of September.
The four Cornwall beaches that operate a year-round dog ban are Charlestown, Polruan Back, Polruan Quay, and Looe.

What are the rules for dogs at the Watergate Bay Hotel?
Dogs are welcome all year round but must be kept on a lead in public areas. Dogs are welcome on the beach, but owners must clear up after them.
Restaurants where dogs are allowed include The Living Space and The Beach Hut, but they must be well-behaved. Dogs are not permitted on any furniture in the hotel, including beds.
Any damage caused by the dogs will be charged to the pet owner. The owner will also deal with any noise complaints against the dog. The hotel reserves the right to ask for dogs to be removed from the hotel.
Guests should bring their dog beds, but the hotel does have a limited number of spares that can be borrowed.
